DAVID GUARIN, MD

I am a board-certified Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Hand Surgeon based in Cali, Colombia. I received my medical degree from the National University of Colombia and completed my residency in Plastic Surgery at Universidad del Valle. Over the years, I have developed a deep interest and expertise in high-definition body contouring, facial reconstruction, and advanced liposuction techniques.

My training includes international observerships and fellowships in renowned institutions such as the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, as well as continued education in advanced technologies like ultrasound-assisted liposuction and craniomaxillofacial surgery. I have participated in and spoken at numerous international congresses, including the Aesthetic Society meetings in the U.S., the London Breast Meeting, and Latin American congresses on reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.

In addition to my clinical work, I am an academic contributor, having taught Plastic Surgery at Universidad del Valle and Universidad El Bosque. I’ve co-authored multiple chapters in internationally published surgical textbooks and peer-reviewed articles on body contouring, gynecomastia, and reconstructive techniques. My collaborations with experts like Dr. Alfredo Hoyos have allowed me to remain at the forefront of aesthetic and reconstructive innovation.

I currently practice at top institutions such as Hospital Universitario del Valle and Clínica Sebastián de Belalcázar, and I am an active member of the Colombian Society of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery (SCCP), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and other professional bodies.
